- Our ESOL Specialist Teacher, Ms. Ni Oisin, conducted her action research approved by SMIS in conjunction with EARCOS. As the EARCOS website states, its aim is to allow "teachers, administrators, and professional staff to conduct action research to improve educational practices for the purpose of enhancing student learning.

Action research is a reflective process, conducted in the school setting, to solve a real problem, or to improve and enhance the instructional process. This research may be undertaken by an individual, or by several people collaboratively". Congratulations to Ms. Ni Oisin.

Her action research report can be found at http://www.youblisher.com/p/106309-EARCOS-Action-Research-Grant/
