The first Parent Teacher Association meeting for the 2009-10 academic year took place on 22 September in the school cafeteria. We would like to thank all those parents in attendance; we greatly value your support and input and look forward to seeing even more of you at next month’s meeting. The PTA exists to aid the school in the facilitation of their pursuits, with full parental involvement and support we can assist St Michael’s in achieving the best in its endeavours.
Monthly Meetings for 2009-10 will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1.30pm in the school cafeteria. The dates are as follows:
*Please note that there will be no meeting in December 2009. Please check this page regularly for details of the Agenda prior to each meeting and for the Minutes once each meeting has occurred.
Issues may arise during the course of the academic year which will require parental voting (for example the annual PTA budget). Previously, voting has consisted of a two-thirds majority of those who are present at these meetings. We recognise, however, that it is not always possible for parents to attend these meetings, but it is still vital that they have a voice in the decisions that are made. After all, these decisions affect each and every one of the children at St Michael’s and, as parents, we all have a desire to ensure the very best for our child/ren. We are therefore introducing a new online system for voting. Each issue will be presented online and parents will be asked to complete a brief voting sheet. Voting will be open for a week prior to the monthly meetings so that results can be presented at the meeting. An email will be sent to all parents when voting is required with a link to the online survey.
