MIND MATTERS
The pressures on professionals and parents today to perform, balance and deliver are increasingly making it difficult for individuals to live their lives in a harmonious and peaceful way.
Rising tension, conflicts, imbalance and stress in our otherwise healthy mind-body-spirit complex are taking a severe toll on individuals, families, teams and organizations to stay true to these values.
Today stress has a far greater and devastating role than any other epidemic, calamity or economic challenge. If one learns how to manage stress one can manage any adverse situation in one’s life, family, team or organization. Maintaining the right perspective at all times is an art and the breath can be a powerful aid in living that art. It allows us to manage these daily pressures of life-not just at work, but also at home and in our social lives.
We welcome Mr. Vikram Hazra to SMIS. He has been associated with The Art of Living since 1994. As Program Director, he was instrumental in launching the Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP), a unique Train-the trainer program to empower and educate, unemployed rural youth across India.
He has created development projects ranging from primary schoosl to sanitation and safe drinking water, from rainwater harvesting to chemical-free farming, have all been off shoots of the above project. Having travelled and conducted programs in over 30 countries, Vikram spends a lot of time training and developing new faculty for the various programs of The Art of Living. He has also accompanied His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on delegations to countries as diverse as Pakistan and Mongolia, and has been a delegate at various international including the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit.
