St. Michael's International School

Key Stage 2 (Ages 7-11)

Key Stage 2 (Ages 7-11)Key Stage 2 is made up of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Year 6 students leaving St. Michael’s are fully prepared for the net stage of their education. In KS 2, support staff also assist our experienced classroom teachers, whilst specialist teachers continue to provide instruction in P.E. (Physical Education), R.E. (Religious Education), I.C.T. (Information Communication Technology), Music, Art, Japanese and Library Skills.

At the end of Key Stage 2, children are formally assessed in Literacy and Numeracy, using Assessment Tests based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales. The results from these tests are used to inform children, teachers and parents of attainment as well as progress made. They are also used to help set future targets as well as guide teachers in their future planning and teaching.

Our Primary classrooms are air-conditioned and very well-equipped. They are held in 2 nearby buildings which feature other specialized locations, such as a medical room staffed full-time by a doctor. Students visit the ICT Lab and Library for lessons with specialist teachers once a week. P.E. classes utilise the indoor hall facilities, the all-weather rooftop and playground areas. The school has a specialized Art room, and children enjoy their lunches in a cafeteria which features full catering services.

St. Michael’s continually improves and upgrades resources and facilities at the school, whilst at the same time ensuring that St. Michael’s does not lose the special feeling and ethos that exists here.
