St. Michael’s International School was absolutely amazing, and we feel privileged that our children could attend such a great school. Our daughter attended SMIS for 6 years. She really loved school and did not want to miss a day, even when she was sick.  She developed a strong connection with her friends and she has learned many things from her experiences there. The children were supported not only by their class teachers, but also by the warm support of many other teachers and staff members.  We are truly appreciative.

Close relationships between the teachers and students was the key to success not only for our daughter who was already an English speaker, but also for our son who has grown up in Japan and learned English through SMIS. The community’s supportive attitude encouraged our children’s sports outside school as well as learning at school! Parents enjoyed working as POSMs too!

We are happy to have sent our daughter to SMIS. We are proud of her to have received the prestigious Spirit of St. Michael’s Award in Year 6. We love this opportunity to share our thoughts about St. Michael International School (SMIS) with you. Our son attended the school from Reception to his graduation at the end of  Year 6. Immediately after moving to Japan in 2014, he got admitted into the school. Everything was so new to him and as parents we were worried about this transition. However, the warm and loving environment of SMIS turned this transition phase into a comfortable and pleasant experience for all of us. We are fond of this small, still diverse, and lively school community that celebrates diversity. For many years I’ve felt like a part of the St. Michael’s family, I felt very touched by the school. Both my daughters have grown up to be the person they are today, from the incredible life teachings provided by the school. St. Michael’s is a very collaborative school and has a healthy background. Both my son and daughter attended St. Michael’s between 2002 to 2018, so we have been with the school for a very long time! Both of them loved going to school everyday and loved the school. It’s a school where difference is accepted and encouraged, all ideas are welcome. Students are taught to become good people in this school, always retain good standards at school and outside of it.

Our two boys were at St. Michael’s from nursery all the way through to graduating from year 6. We are a bicultural, bilingual British/Japanese family.  The school is certainly warm and welcoming – parents as well as children made plenty of friends there! Being a small school helps to build relations between staff, children and their families, and this is something that we really appreciated.
