Technology Policy
At St. Michael’s International School, we recognise the transformative power of technology in education and the vital role it plays in equipping children with essential skills for the future. We are committed to not only teaching our young learners the technical skills they need but also instilling values that promote ethical and safe use of technology.
To achieve this, the school implements a structured Computing curriculum tailored to teach age-appropriate and relevant skills to our children from Year 1 to Year 6. This curriculum ensures that our young learners develop a solid foundation in technology while being prepared for life beyond school.
From Year 1 to Year 6, St. Michael’s operates a 1-1 Chromebook programme. The school provides and manages these devices, ensuring consistent and reliable access to technology for all young learners while removing the need for children to bring personal devices from home. Internet safety is a cornerstone of our programme and is integrated into every computing curriculum unit, helping young learners become responsible digital citizens.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) at St. Michael’s
We embrace innovation by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool to enhance teaching and administrative processes. Our teachers and staff use AI to spark creativity, make lesson planning more effective, simplify administrative tasks, and improve efficiency.
As AI becomes increasingly important in our world, we are dedicated to demonstrating its safe and ethical use. We ensure that AI use aligns with our school values, promotes inclusivity and accessibility, and supports each child’s personal growth.
Through these efforts, we aim to prepare our young learners for a future where technology and AI are integral parts of society.
