We were delighted to celebrate our Year 6 award winners, recognising achievements in Japanese language and culture, reading, and technology. These awards celebrate more than individual success. They reflect the learning habits and personal skills that help children grow as thoughtful, capable and independent learners. Each award recognises commitment, curiosity, responsibility and the willingness to keep improving.
The Japanese Language and Culture Award celebrates two students who have shown enthusiasm for language learning and a respectful interest in Japanese culture. They have also helped to promote an appreciation of Japanese culture within our school community. This reflects the importance of communication, global understanding and open-mindedness at St. Michael’s. The Reading Award recognises a student who has developed a love of reading and shown real dedication to building confidence, fluency and understanding. Strong reading habits support learning across the curriculum. They also help children become reflective, informed and imaginative learners. The Technology Award celebrates a student who uses technology with confidence, care and responsibility. In today’s world, this means developing digital skills, making thoughtful choices, staying safe online and using technology as a positive tool for learning.
We are very proud of our Year 6 award winners and of the personal qualities that underpin their achievements. As they prepare to graduate, they leave us with well-established learning habits that will support them in the next stage of their education.
