Goal Setting

At St. Michael’s International School in Kobe, every child is encouraged to take ownership of their learning and to thrive both personally and academically. As they begin their final year, our Year 6 learners have taken time to set goals for what they want to achieve before moving on to secondary school. Some want to strengthen their leadership skills, others aim to develop new abilities, and many are focused on building confidence and preparing for the next stage of their education. This activity is more than just a classroom exercise. Goal setting gives learners a clear sense of direction and helps them stay motivated. It also encourages perseverance and provides opportunities to reflect on progress and celebrate success throughout the year.

At St. Michael’s, we know that reflection and self-direction build independence and resilience. These qualities, along with compassion, endeavour, and collaboration, are at the heart of our mission: Growing, Working, Learning Together. By starting the year in this way, our Year 6 students are ready to face challenges with confidence and to make the most of every opportunity their final year offers.
