Celebrating St. Michael’s Day

Each year, the St. Michael’s community comes together to mark our school’s namesake day with a very special service at the cathedral. This long-standing tradition is more than a celebration, it is a meaningful way for our students, staff, families, and friends to gather in a shared spirit of gratitude and reflection.

St. Michael’s Day holds an important place in our school calendar. It reminds us of the values we strive to live by as a community: respect, compassion, endeavour, responsibility, tolerance, honesty and integrity. Coming together in the cathedral, where our school has deep historic ties, strengthens the sense of belonging that is at the heart of St. Michael’s.

This year’s celebration was also an opportunity to welcome our new staff members, who bring fresh energy and talent to our school, and to introduce our newly elected student leaders. Their role in guiding and representing their peers is a vital part of helping our young learners grow as confident, responsible citizens.

The service reflected both tradition and renewal: honouring the school’s long history while celebrating the people, staff, students, and families, who will carry its mission forward. It was a joyful reminder of what it means to be a part of St. Michael’s: growing, working, and learning together.
