Easter Traditions

As Easter approaches, our school marks this special time of year through a range of much loved traditions. Activities such as Easter egg hunts, designing Easter bonnets and learning about the Easter story bring colour, joy and meaning to the season, while also helping children understand why Easter remains such an important celebration for many people around the world.

For our younger learners, the excitement of an Easter egg hunt adds a sense of fun and shared enjoyment. Designing Easter bonnets gives children the chance to be creative, make choices and take pride in their work. Alongside these activities, classes also spend time learning about the Easter story and its message of hope, new life and renewal.

These traditions do more than mark the season. They also connect closely with our school values. Children show responsibility as they take part thoughtfully in shared activities, respect as they learn about the beliefs and traditions of others, and compassion as they reflect on themes of kindness, hope and new beginnings. Events like these also help strengthen our sense of community, as children, staff and families come together to celebrate.

By linking celebration with learning, we help children see that special traditions can be both enjoyable and meaningful. Easter at St Michael’s is therefore not only a time of creativity and fun, but also an opportunity to reflect on values that matter throughout the year.
