Early Years visit the Dinosaur Museum

Our Early Years children enjoyed an exciting visit to the Dinosaur Museum this week, bringing their IEYC unit to life in a meaningful and memorable way. Stepping outside the classroom gave our youngest learners the chance to see and experience their learning first hand. They explored dinosaur models, looked closely at shapes and features, and talked about what they could see. The visit sparked curiosity, encouraged questions and supported the development of language as children shared their ideas and discoveries.

Experiences like this help deepen understanding. What begins as a topic in the classroom becomes something real and engaging. Children are able to connect what they have learned through stories and activities with what they see in the wider world. The visit also supported important personal skills. Children practised listening, following instructions and staying together as a group. They showed excitement, curiosity and a growing confidence in new surroundings.

Learning outside the classroom plays an important role in the Early Years. It helps children build knowledge, develop skills and, most importantly, enjoy the process of learning.
