At St. Michael’s, being a small school is an important part of who we are. Small means knowing our children well. It means teachers who understand not only how a child is learning, but what interests them, what challenges them and what helps them to thrive. It means children are noticed, known and valued as individuals. Small also creates connection. Across the school, children of different ages learn, play and celebrate together. Staff know families, families know one another, and new members of our community quickly become familiar faces. These everyday relationships help create the strong sense of belonging that sits at the heart of St. Michael’s.
Our size does not limit our ambition. Children experience a broad British international education, specialist teaching, opportunities for leadership and responsibility, and a rich programme of learning beyond the classroom. What our size allows us to do is deliver these experiences within a community where every child has a voice and every child can make a difference. For 80 years, generations of children, families and staff have shaped St. Michael’s. The school has changed and developed over those decades, but the importance of relationships and community has remained constant. There is power in being small enough to know one another, connected enough to care and ambitious enough to keep looking forward. That is the power of small. Growing, Working and Learning Together since 1946.
