St. Michael’s Day

St. Michael’s Day, also called Michaelmas, falls on September 29th and at school we celebrate on the Friday closest to this date. It is a special day to remember St. Michael, who is known as an angel and a protector. St. Michael is the patron saint for people who are in danger, like soldiers and police officers, and also for teachers. On St. Michael’s Day, people celebrate his bravery and strength in helping others and protecting goodness in the world. It’s a day for everyone to think about being brave, kind, and helpful, just like St. Michael!

It is also the perfect time for us to celebrate the start of the school year. By celebrating St. Michael’s Day, we not only honor our school’s namesake but also remind everyone to be strong, brave, and kind—qualities that help make our school a special and safe place for learning. It’s a wonderful way to start the school year with a sense of purpose and community!

Just like St. Michael watches over people, the teachers and staff at St. Michael’s School are here to guide and protect children as they learn and grow throughout the year.
