Respect

Today our Year 6 learners led the annual Remembrance Service with quiet confidence and clear communication skills. They welcomed our community, shared the history of Remembrance Day and the importance of the poppy before they guided us through a moment of silence. Their leadership showed respect, responsibility and compassion in action.

Remembrance matters because it asks us to pause, to honour those who suffered or served in times of conflict, and to recognise the cost of peace. By remembering together, our children learn empathy and gratitude. They also see how individual choices and voices can help shape a kinder future.

The service linked their classroom learning with real life. Year 6 prepared readings, created artwork, and shared their well crafted and emotive poetry on the theme of War. These learning experiences foster critical thinking and help children understand both history and their role as global citizens.

Thank you to our staff, students and families for supporting this meaningful occasion. As a school, we will continue to remember, to learn and to work for a more peaceful world.
