Global Action

Year 6 recently spent a valuable day at Peace and Nature, where they stepped into their role as global citizens through meaningful, hands on action. With a clear aim to give back to the local community, our learners took part in two practical projects. They planted mushrooms in wooden logs, learning how natural resources can be reused in a sustainable way. They also worked together to rebuild a bamboo fence that had fallen into disrepair, helping to restore and care for the local environment.

These experiences link closely to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly responsible use of resources and caring for our natural surroundings. More importantly, they allowed pupils to see how their actions can make a real and visible difference. Throughout the day, Year 6 demonstrated strong collaboration, working together to complete each task. They showed real endeavour as they tackled new and sometimes challenging activities. Above all, they showed compassion for the world around them, understanding that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility.

Experiences like this bring learning to life. They help our learners move beyond understanding global issues to taking action, developing the knowledge, skills and values needed to contribute positively to their community and the wider world.
