Our Early Years learners have enjoyed an exciting start to their new International Early Years Curriculum unit, Going Places. As part of the entry point experience, the children began exploring different types of transport and learning about countries around the world. Through imaginative play and hands-on learning, they discovered what it might feel like to travel to new places and experience different cultures.
To support their Global Citizenship learning, the children focused first on their home country, Japan. They created their own passports, travelled through airport security and immigration, and boarded “Early Years Airlines” for a very special classroom journey. The experience sparked curiosity, creativity and excitement as the children worked together to role-play the travel experience. Activities such as these help develop communication, collaboration and an understanding of the wider world in an engaging and meaningful way.
At St. Michael’s our Early Years programme is designed to give children a strong and confident start to their learning journey. Through play-based learning, skilled teaching and a nurturing international environment, children develop the confidence, communication and curiosity that help them thrive both in school and beyond. It is a place where children feel safe, valued and inspired to explore the world around them from the very beginning.
