Year 4 recently welcomed parents to their final IPC Exit Point of the academic year, celebrating their learning from the “How Humans Work” unit. Throughout the event, students demonstrated creativity, collaboration and communication as they shared their knowledge and understanding of the human body. The presentation began on the school roof, where students explained the cardiovascular system, sharing what they had learned about the heart, blood vessels and the important role this system plays in keeping our bodies healthy and functioning effectively.
Parents were then invited back to the classroom, where the class delivered an engaging presentation on the importance of mindful eating. They explored how making healthy food choices and developing positive eating habits can support both physical health and overall wellbeing. Learners also discussed the dangers of tobacco and alcohol, explaining the impact these substances can have on the body and highlighting the importance of making informed lifestyle choices. The Exit Point concluded with a fun and interactive demonstration of the human digestive system. Learners enlisted the help of five brave parent volunteers to bring the digestive process to life, providing an entertaining and memorable way to understand the journey food takes through the body.
As with all IPC Exit Points, the event provided an opportunity for students to apply their learning in a real-world context, develop their presentation skills and share their achievements with an authentic audience. It was wonderful to see the confidence, enthusiasm and teamwork demonstrated throughout the afternoon. Thank you to all the parents who joined us to celebrate the students’ learning. We are incredibly proud of the curiosity, collaboration and communication skills Year 4 have developed throughout this unit and across the school year.
