At St. Michael’s, we know that the Early Years are where so much begins. These first experiences of school help shape how children see themselves as learners. Through purposeful play, exploration and carefully planned learning experiences, children develop the confidence, curiosity and independence they need for the years ahead. Our Early Years classrooms are busy places. Children are learning to communicate, solve problems, make choices, share ideas and build friendships. Time outdoors is equally important, providing opportunities to explore, take manageable risks, develop physical skills and learn how to work and play alongside others.

Strong relationships sit at the heart of this work. Our teachers take time to know each child well, responding to individual interests, strengths and needs while creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued and that they belong.
